I am not much interested in variable fonts, but surely now that I have become typographically aware I consider having optical sizes a necessity. For typefaces aimed to print, it becomes even more so.1 -

"Too wide" compared to what? I think it’s a choice. You can go with more internal tension and rythm, as in the ancient roman inscriptions, or achieve "harmonization through homogeneiz…2 -

Chivo is a weird take, as it‘s very geometric. Not geometric in the fashion of the very original Alias' Elephant, but still quite rigid compared to the "Helvetica-quality" dominating Muhit…3 -
